Privacy Policy

Subnotes doesn't collect your data. There's no account, no sign-up, and no server run by us. Your notes and tasks live in your own iCloud account and sync between your own devices through Apple's CloudKit. We never see them.
What we don't do
- No sign-up, account, or password
- No analytics or tracking of any kind
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party servers — the only server involved is Apple's iCloud, under your own Apple Account
What syncs, and where it lives
Notes, tasks, and priorities are stored in your iCloud private database using Apple's CloudKit, scoped to your Apple Account. That data is encrypted and managed by Apple; Subnotes' developer has no access to it and no server that could see it. Apple's own privacy policy governs iCloud storage — see apple.com/legal/privacy.
The Today widget and the Share Extension read the same notes and tasks through a local, on-device shared container. That data never leaves your device except through your own iCloud sync.
Exporting and importing
Subnotes can export and import your notes as Markdown files. Those files are handled entirely by the Files app or Finder on your own device — Subnotes has no server to upload them to, and no visibility into where you choose to save or share them.
AI features
Where Subnotes uses AI to help you think through your notes, that processing happens on-device using Apple's on-device intelligence frameworks. Your note content is not sent to Subnotes (we have no server to send it to) or to any third-party AI service.
Children's privacy
Subnotes does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — because it does not collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes — for example, if a future feature works differently — this page will be updated and the date above revised.
